E-Silence

Nearly all the memos posted on SPHC.net have been accompanied by notes saying that they were retyped by our Webmaster. Such notes persist even now that our Webmaster is a Board Member. Why doesn't our Board not engage in efficient information-sharing with our on-line community? Come on, this should be common practice — after all, this is the 80s! Wait, no, it is two decades later — the lack of electronic communications in this day and age, in my opinion, reflects ineptitude at best. But of course it is not my opinion that counts — in a recent email, I ask Board Members to clarify their position on sharing information electronically.

Dear Board Members:

Nearly all the memos that have been posted on the SPHC.net website since its inception have been accompanied by notes from the webmaster saying that he has had to retype them. I know that most Board Members have regular access to email. Sending files by email takes only seconds. Do you have a reason for not submitting your memos in electronic form in a timely manner so that they can be shared on-line? I cordially ask for specifics of that reason or specifics of your plans to publish memos on-line in the future.

Respectfully,

Dan Strum
